The ESIGN Act — In Plain English
In 2000, Congress passed the Electronic Signatures in Global and National Commerce Act (ESIGN Act). It says that an electronic signature is just as legally valid as a pen-and-paper signature.
That means when your client taps their finger on a screen and signs your change order in Final Bark, it carries the same legal weight as if they sat down at a desk and signed a contract with a ballpoint pen.
